Lipedema: much more than a question of shape
Understanding this chronic condition is the first step towards caring for your body with respect.
Understanding lipedema
Lipedema is a chronic condition in which fatty tissue accumulates abnormally and painfully, usually in the legs, hips and arms, while sparing the hands and feet.
It has nothing to do with diet or exercise: it's a disorder of adipose tissue, influenced by hormones and lymphatic circulation.
Why does it happen?
Lipedema tends to appear during times of hormonal change — puberty, pregnancy, menopause. The lymphatic system becomes less efficient and the body stores fat in areas where it can no longer drain properly.
It's not overeating. It's a system imbalance.
The vicious cycle
Chronic inflammation causes pain, tenderness and a persistent feeling of heaviness. Over time, the adipose tissue hardens and lymphatic circulation slows even further.
The more it hurts and swells, the harder it becomes to move and drain. It's a cycle the body can't break on its own.
The role of lymphatic drainage
Manual drainage helps reduce retention, relieve pain and improve body contour. It supports lymphatic circulation and brings a genuine feeling of lightness and wellbeing.
It's an essential ally alongside medical treatment, helping to improve quality of life.
Why follow a treatment course?
Your body needs consistency to rebalance what the system can no longer regulate alone. Treatment courses stimulate circulation, reduce inflammation and relieve internal pressure.
Each session is a step towards more lightness, harmony and connection with your body.
Your body doesn't betray you. It just needs to be supported.
